After having received all sorts of great feedback and recommendations from many of our users, we’re pleased to announce these exciting new updates and features in RumbleTalk.

Spam Filter for Usernames

We know that keeping their chat room clean is a necessity to our users. That’s why we developed the “forbidden words list”.

Anytime someone tries to type a word from that list, their message is blocked, and they get a warning that they used an offensive word that is not allowed.

We’ve now extended this feature to apply to usernames as well.

Now, when a user tries to enter the chat with a username that contains an offensive word, from the forbidden words list, they will be blocked from entering the room altogether.

No More Admin Flooding

As a measure of security to prevent groups of users from spamming the chat, when they start typing too fast, they are kicked out of the chat with a message stating: “you are typing too fast“.

However, this had the downside of also removing the chat administrators when they were typing too many messages too quickly.

Now, administrators flooding has been canceled, and administrators will no longer be affected by this unique security measure.

Users Can Chat with Administrators

As you probably know, there are two settings for private chats: either users can start chats with each other, or only administrators can start chats with everyone.

But while administrators had the ability to initiate and engage in a private chat with other users when this was selected, users could not start chats with the administrators themselves.

Now, when you select the “Administrator only” setting, we have enhanced the setting for users to be able to initiate private chats with the administrators as well.
